Landon at the Amusement Park

Landon enjoyed his time at the Amusement Park today, too (see previous post for pics of Logan). He doesn't enjoy riding on any of the rides yet, except for the train. I tried to get him to ride the carousel with me, but he wanted nothing to do with it (Jeff and my dad found that out too on Friday night when they took the boys to ride rides). At just under 2 years old, he was content watching all of the people and watching Logan ride the rides for now. Other than loving the train, he also loves the playground that is at the Amusement Park. As you can see in one of his pictures, he is quite a dare devil, using the brick wall surrounding the park as a balance beam! Of course, he also enjoyed going to Bob's for "fre fries"...his favorite food! Maybe next summer Landon will be ready to try some of the fun rides at the Amusement Park!

Logan at the Amusement Park

Today Jeff's boss had a summer celebration for everyone that works at MWI. My mom watched the boys while they were taking a nap, and during that time Jeff and I went for a company boat ride on the Queen which also included a wonderful meal catered by Yesterday's. After the boat ride, Jeff and I went home to get the boys and take them on rides at the Amusement Park...Jeff's boss got everyone and their family members day passes to the park. This post just includes pictures of Logan at the Amusement Park and I will include Landon's pictures from the day in my next post. Logan pretty much loves all of the kiddie rides EXCEPT for the kiddie roller coaster...it goes just a little too fast for Logan's liking. We found that out Friday night when Jeff and my dad took the boys to ride rides and the ride operator had to stop the roller coaster and let Logan off because he was crying and freaking out! He DID enjoy riding on the fishies, boats, carousel, and of course his absolute favorite...the TRAIN! He also always likes to play at the playground in the Amusement Park, so we did that too. After a couple of hours of riding rides, we decided to have supper at Bob's Dogs and then head home for baths. It was a great afternoon!

Dallas Singing at the Iowa State Fair

This past weekend, my cousin Dallas was invited to sing at the Iowa State Fair. This was her 2nd year of performing there. She stayed busy by doing one show Friday morning at the Anderson-Erickson Pavillion, and then 2 shows at a bar and grill located on the fairgrounds (Jalepeno Pete's) - Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. My mom and I went to watch her sing and also had a great time visiting the fair and doing lots of shopping in Des Moines. We also got to spend a little time with my aunt Donna (Dallas' mom) and my aunt Debbie which was fun. It was a great weekend and Dallas did a wonderful job at her shows!

More Pictures From Sturgis Trip

Here are some more pics, including a picture of Jeff's friend that went with him, Steve. Jeff only took about 400 pictures on his trip, so these are just a very few of them (of course I didn't include any of the x-rated ones from the actual Sturgis rally)! The last one is right when Jeff got home and the boys went out to greet him...I think they were beginning to wonder if he was coming back after being without him for 4 days!

Jeff's Sturgis Trip

Jeff had a great trip to Sturgis and arrived back home safely! He had great weather, but his last night of camping was mighty cold...he woke up to frost on the ground and didn't have nearly enough gear to keep him warm! I was amazed when he showed me pictures of how close the buffalo were to the road he was driving on and the donkey, too! Looks like he saw some beautiful country...looks a little different than Iowa!

Daddy heads to Sturgis

On Thursday, Jeff and his friend Steve started their motorcycle trip to Sturgis! This trip is like a dream come true to Jeff...he's been really into motorcycling lately, he LOVES the area he is headed to, and though he's been to the general area before, he's never been to the Sturgis rally before. Since they actually rode their motorcycles there, he had to pack light and smart, and his bike still ended up pretty loaded! In an earlier post there was a picture of Logan dinging a small bell on Jeff's motorcycle...the boys and I got him a gremlin bell. I don't know a lot about them, but it is a bell that lots of guys have on their motorcycles...it has to be given to you by someone who cares about you and it is supposed to give the driver good luck and safety...we do pray for that! Hopefully Jeff is taking some pictures of his trip that I can post once he gets back (of course we'll hope none of them are x-rated)!

Silly Underwear Boy!

I don't know what more to say... :)

Mommy, Daddy, and boys

Here are a few pictures of the boys with me and each of them with Daddy also. Landon loves a little cuddle time right before he heads to bed and Logan just loves to have all of our attention, period!

More Beach Pictures

A Typical Beach Day!

We've had many beach days this summer, but today I actually remembered to take my camera! As you may be able to tell from the pictures, Logan likes to be in the water, Landon likes to be in the sand. While Logan loves the beach, Landon would rather swim in a cheap little plastic pool at home. The water was not nearly as clear today as it has been this summer, so both boys spent more time on the beach than normal. Our regular routine is to go to the beach after nap time until about supper time. We bring Grandma Umscheid along with us so one of us can be with Logan in the water and one of us can be near land with Landon (do you suppose his name has something to do with not liking the water---Land-on?)! Our beach days are getting numbered now that I start school in about 3 weeks :( Oh well, we'll enjoy it while it lasts!
