Clay County Fair Fun - 2011

Well, that time of year has come and gone once again...Clay County Fair time! We always look forward to it every September! The food, the farm animals, the tractors, the amusement rides...did I mention the food?! Logan and Landon got to go to the fair twice this year, and actually, Landon went 3 times since his pre-k class took a field trip there! They had a blast! Last night, since Jeff and my dad and brother went to the races there, my mom and I took the boys. They loved sitting on some tractors and seeing and petting the baby farm animals, but they REALLY enjoyed their time at the midway! Since it was Kid's Day, the ride costs were reduced (greatly - like 2/3 off), so they rode SEVERAL rides! Some rides they went on multiple times! Some nice girls that were heading home for the day gave us the rest of their tickets, giving the boys even more rides to go on! The highlight of the boys' visit to the fair last night was when Grandma Bonnie bought them tickets for their first ever pony/horse rides! Landon wasn't quite sure what to think, but hasn't stopped talking about it yet! Logan acted like he was a pro and loved every minute of it! Always great memories at the fair! Until next year...(it might take me that long to burn the calories consumed at the fair)!

Landon's Pre-K Fair Fieldtrip!

Yesterday, Landon got to go to the Clay County Fair on a field trip with his Pre-K class! He was so excited to get to ride the BIG bus to the fair with his friends and see all of the farm animals there! He was even more excited that Daddy was going with him and his class! While they were there, they got to actually see a baby calf being born! How neat!? Landon loved petting the calf, piglet, baby goat, rabbit, and the list goes on! He had a fun time with his dad and his classmates! He is loving Pre-k, for sure!

Sioux Falls Zoo 2011

Since Jeff is away at a motorcycle rally in Soldier, IA, my parents and I decided it would be fun to get out of town for the day as well, so we took Logan and Landon to the Sioux Falls Zoo! Today was a BEAUTIFUL day to visit the zoo! The temps were great, so it was very comfortable for lots of walking, and the animals were out and about, too. Landon seemed more excited this year than he has in past years, so that was fun! While the boys always love to see all of the animals, some of their "favorites" at the zoo are the train ride, the petting zoo, the carousel, and the gift shop (where they made out pretty good with the gifts Mommy and Grandma bought them)! They loved feeding the ducks, swans, and goats. They tell me their favorite animal that they saw was the baby monkey (he was pretty cute, and silly, too). They were also pretty amused to see a tiger going "potty!" The tiger even sprayed it towards the fence where several people were watching him, giving the crowd a little scare! Thank goodness he couldn't spray it quite that far! LOL! All in all, we had a great day, and I'm happy that the boys got to have Grandma and Grandpa join the fun as well!
