#54 - Following Dad's Footsteps!

We are so proud of Logan for giving tackle football a try this year!  He is LOVING it so far!  He proudly wears his dad's number from high school and college - #54, which makes Jeff awfully proud as well!  Jeff is also a team parent for Logan's team this year (basically like an assistant coach), making this even more of a bonding experience for the two of them.  So far, they have just had practices, and games will start the weekend after Labor Day!  I'm excited to finally get to see him play!  Good luck Logan and the Okoboji Maroon Team!

Back to School 2013!

Well, summer is officially over and today was the first day of school for Logan and Landon (and myself, a 4th grade teacher)!  Other than recess being ridiculously HOT (like 100 degrees, literally), all three of us had a super awesome day!  I haven't gotten a lot of details out of my boys, but both of them came to my classroom after school and had nothing but good things to say!  Logan's exact words were "Best 1st day EVER, Mom!"  Landon said to me, "Mom, I just had an AWESOME day!"  Amen!  I love to hear that they enjoyed their first day with their new teachers!  It probably helps that, not only did both of them get into the same class as their best friend, but they also both sit next to their best buds in class, too!  :)  Logan is starting 3rd grade, and his teacher is Mrs. Allen.  Landon has Mrs. Hanson in 1st grade.  Both of those ladies are great teachers who will do great things with our boys this year!  As for me, I also had a wonderful day with my class and I think this should be an enjoyable year with them!  Here's to a great school year!

Sioux Falls Get Away!

It's great to be back home, but the boys and I, along with my wonderful mom, have had a pretty fun past 3 days!  Since my dad takes his vacation to Boy Scout camp each summer, and Jeff goes to Sturgis, my mom and I have been taking a yearly trip with the boys to Sioux Falls...just a few days to get out of town, get some school shopping done, and have a little fun!  This year, after the ABSOLUTE HORROR of school shopping for clothes with the boys, we had a lot of fun that included: staying at an indoor water park, going to a mini-water park that Sioux Falls considers a community pool (lazy river and all), a trip to the toy store, and lots of eating out (Chuck E Cheese is a favorite on the boys' lists)!  Pretty laid back and simple...just the way we like it!  :)
