Sioux Falls Vacation

Before summer came to an end, my mom and I wanted to take Logan and Landon on a little vacation, so we decided to go to Sioux Falls for a few nights! Jeff always takes his vacation time to go to Sturgis, and my dad always takes his to go to Boy Scout Camp, so each year mom and I try to take the boys somewhere. We stayed at the Ramada, which has a small indoor waterpark, lap pool and little arcade. It was the perfect size for the boys. While in a town with someplace to shop other than Wal-Mart, we also attempted to take the boys shopping for school clothes (definitely NOT a highlight of our vacation as taking 2 boys shopping is miserable). Each boy got to choose a few toys, so that made them happy, but it didn't make them want to be cooperative in trying on clothes...anyhow, we got the job done and they came home with plenty of clothes for the school year! We also took the boys to Falls Park to see the falls, but we didn't get to stay long since it started raining. A trip to Sioux Falls wouldn't be complete without a visit to Chuck E. Cheese, so we made sure to have supper there one night as well. They were THRILLED to give Chuckie high 5's and hugs! We spent most of the trip in the pools at the hotel and just had fun being out of town for a few days. Logan wished he didn't ever have to leave and both boys are asking me when we get to go on vacation again! They don't understand that it costs money to go on vacation, but we'll get another one planned soon enough...maybe this fall!

Pioneer Days Kiddie Parade

Last weekend, to kick off Milford's Pioneer Days celebration, Logan and Landon decided to be in the Kiddie Parade! The Kiddie Parade is where kids get to have a parade of their own! They've never wanted to participate in this in the past, so I was excited when they said they wanted to be in it this year. The original plan was for them to dress up in their Iowa Hawkeye uniforms, but not only was it WAY too hot for that, but I didn't think that would look quite right while they were riding on a RED 4-wheeler! LOL! So, Plan B...Hunters! My mom came up with the idea for them to be hunters, so we dressed them in their camo (cutting the long sleeves and making them muscle hunting shirts since the temps were in the high 90's) and attached some deer antlers to the front of their 4-wheeler! They did a great job in the parade and had a good time! Now I'm already thinking about what they should be next year!
