Snowmobile Fun!

Along with the Okoboji Winter Games comes a lot of fun, also!  Jeff took the boys to Polaris on Saturday where they were letting kids ride their Kitty Kat snowmobiles for free on a course they made outside their factory!  The boys were nervous at first because they weren't sure they would know how to run these things, but once they got the hang of it, it was hard to get them to let the other kids in line have a turn!  Now they think they "need" their own snowmobiles!  :)  Not this year, but maybe someday!

What a Difference a Year Makes!

One year ago, almost exactly, Jeff decided to trek down the path of trying to lose weight and become healthier.  In just that ONE year, Jeff lost 170 pounds and is still going strong.  To celebrate his one year of becoming healthier, he decided to run his 1st 5K at the Okoboji Winter Games!  He placed 13th out of 37 in his age group, and we couldn't be more proud of him!!!

Shaving Time!

The boys got a pretend shaving kit in their stockings from Santa, and I couldn't resist posting these cute pictures of them pretending to shave!  Logan says he wants to make sure his face feels "as smooth as a baby's butt!"  Haha!  Landon just wants to make sure he doesn't get quite as hairy as Uncle Ben!  LOL!  Uncle Ben doesn't typically keep a lot of facial hair, but he is a pretty hairy guy!  :)  I suppose I'll have to fight to make them shave when they are actually old enough, but for now, they love pretending to do it!

Puppy Tales!

Here is Logan reading to Anders in a program called Puppy Tales! His reading teacher offers kids in her class the opportunity to read to one of her two very well-behaved, very well-trained, very cute dogs, and Logan chose to read to Anders! What a cute couple, and what a great teacher!

Happy 2013!!!

This was the first year that the boys actually stayed up late enough to ring in the New Year with me!!!  We started our celebration out at supper time by Jeff preparing a YUMMY prime rib supper for us and my parents.  (Yes, we are homebodies every year..we choose not to go out and celebrate, but instead stay home and make our supper a celebration for Brooke's birthday).  We then watched the New Year's Eve festivities in New York on tv with the boys enjoying some of the music, ate birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday to Angel Brooke, then we celebrated when the ball dropped in New York (11:00 PM our time) because I figured they would zonk shortly after.  Well...the adrenaline of blowing our horns and kissing and hugging gave them their second wind, and we kissed and hugged again at OUR midnight, too!  They were asking me to put them to bed by about 12:05, but we DID bring in the New Year together (Jeff even stayed up with us, which he typically does not)!  Here's to 2013!
