Logan Fishing

Fishing - Summer 2009

Since the boys in this house highly out-number me, I got roped into going fishing today! The whole family went, and this was Landon's first time!! Logan got his fishing pole last year (a Lightning McQueen one), so of course Landon needed his own, too. He picked out a Scooby-Doo pole. Logan did a good job of fishing until he caught his first fish...once he did that, he was pretty much done. Landon's fishing attention span lasted all of about 3 minutes, then he decided it was pretty fun to just sit and throw rocks into the water...probably why we didn't catch many fish! Haha! All in all, we had a great time! I even caught a fish, using the boys' poles since they ditched them! None of them were keepers, just babies, but we had fun!

Logan's 1st Swimming Lessons

All this week, Logan has been going to the Spirit Lake YMCA for swimming lessons! He loved going everyday, and made some new friends while there! This is the first time he has taken lessons...we figured since we spend a lot of time at the beach in the summer, it's time for him to start learning how to swim! He did a really good job at his lessons, but still isn't convinced that it's okay to go underwater! That still scares him a bit! At any rate, he learned a lot this week, and we'll continue on with classes...maybe taking a class this fall or winter, and then more next summer!

Summer Fun 2009

Well, summer quickly went from cold and rainy, to HOT and humid! So we decided to get our sprinkler out the other day to cool off with! Logan loves running through the sprinkler, while Landon won't go near it unless I make it what he calls "a baby sprinkler." This means I have to turn the water pressure WAY down so the water only sprays about a foot into the air. Logan likes it on full pressure...way up in the air! We may complain of the heat now, but before we know it, we'll be complaining about the cold, so I guess we should enjoy it while we can!

Air Show 2009

Today we took the boys to the Air Show in Spencer. My cousin Dallas kicked off the air show by singing the National Anthem. Uncle Ben and Alyssa joined us, and the boys had a great time watching the airplanes do all of their tricks! The Jelly Belly airplane did the best tricks! Logan got to look inside a Navy airplane, too! Last year he got to sit inside it, but this year the guy was just letting kids look. Landon was so mad that he couldn't sit in the airplane that he wouldn't even go look in it...stubborn kid! Landon's favorite was the green "det" (jet). Anyhow, we had a fun morning and now we are all exhausted! Nap time!!

Today I tried my best to be a professional photographer, but let's just say I'm not giving up my day job! Logan was very cooperative, while Landon on the other hand...not so much! The pictures didn't turn out great, but good enough for us (and will save us a lot of money to not actually have them professionally done)!
