Landon - Swimming Lessons 2011
Landon has been SO EXCITED to take swimming lessons for his first time this year! He has a great teacher, and only 3 kids total in his class, so he is learning a lot with the extra one-on-one time being in such a small class! He did something today during his lesson that I never thought he would do...he went down the big blue water slide! He was scared, but brave! If I had told him to try it, he would have said NO, but since his teacher told him to try it, he did!! He is no longer afraid of "that big blue slide" as he calls it! Logan is also taking lessons this week, so while Logan is taking lessons, Landon gets time to just play in the pool, and vice versa. This is Logan's 3rd year of swimming lessons, so he is very used to what to do and is becoming a pretty good swimmer that is not afraid of the water. This year, he is very excited that one of his best friends, Grace, is in his swimming class! Logan and Grace have their lessons first, then, while Landon is taking lessons, Logan and Grace get to play in the pool! They are having a fun week together!Happy Father's Day!
On Father's Day, the boys got to spend some quality time with Daddy, as well as Grandpa Mick! We spent some of the day letting Jeff just rest a bit (which he rarely gets to do), but we also took him out to lunch at his favorite place...Mrs. Lady's! After that, we took him to Wal-Mart to pick out a digital camera that will work well for all of his motorcycle trips. Later in the day, we went out to my brother's house and grilled with him and his wife, some of her family, and my parents. The boys are so lucky to have such great men in their lifes! Beach Babes!
In between all of the rainy days we've been having around here, we've managed to squeeze in quite a bit of time at the beach so far this summer! To me, the water is still too cold, but it doesn't seem to bother the boys a bit (or any of the many other kids there as well)! Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Amusement Park 2011
Now that the boys and I are officially on summer break, we have spent and will be spending plenty of time at Arnold's Park Amusement Park! We've already been there 3 times! Yesterday (Saturday), I was glad I had my camera along because my mom talked the boys in to trying some new rides that they have been a bit fearful of in past summers! The swings and the kiddie roller coaster were some new rides that they attempted this year. Logan loved both rides! Landon loved the swings, but the whole time he was on the kiddie coaster, he looked as though he was going to cry (but he was brave and didn't)! When Landon got off the coaster he said, "I am NEVER riding that again!" Logan said the same thing about that ride a couple summers ago, so there's still hope that Landon will take a liking to it! I think this will be Logan's last summer on some of the "kiddie" rides like the fish, dragons, boats, and kiddie coaster because he is getting to the maximum height they will allow kids to be for those rides, so I'm glad he is getting braver and trying some new rides! Of course, since Landon is about as big as Logan, this could be his last summer for those rides as well! We look forward to many more fun times at the Amusement Park this year, and hopefully many more summers of fun there in years to come!
