Sledding at Uncle Ben's House!

After the Christmas Snow Storm of 2009 dumped 18 inches or more in our area, the boys were itching to get out and play in all the snow! Once Uncle Ben had his driveway cleared, LARGE mounds of snow were left behind...perfect sledding hills for Logan and Landon, so we headed out there and had a blast! Landon only lasted about an hour (which is good for him), and he wasn't thrilled about going down the hill in a sled. He was just interested in jumping around in the snow! Logan must have went down the hill 50 times or more, and poor Uncle Ben helped him up and down each time! He stayed out for another hour after Landon tuckered out and went home for a nap. Logan also built a little snow fort with Ben's help, so he thought that was pretty neat! When Logan was done, we headed into Ben and Alyssa's house to warm up, and they made Logan some hot chocolate, which he loved! What a fun time! It looks like the snow will be around for awhile, so we hope to get out there and have more fun in the coming days!

Christmas at Gma and Gpa Umscheid's House!

On Saturday, it felt good to get out of the house after the storm had trapped us, and go to my mom and dad's for Christmas with them, my brother, and his girlfriend. After eating WAY too much food, the present opening began!! Boy did Logan and Landon get spoiled this year! Although, both found a lump of coal in their stockings (as a joke). Logan did not take the joke so well. He was seriously worried that Santa thought he was naughty and gave him a lump of coal! Haha! We told him if he had really been naughty, all he would have gotten was a lump of coal...there wouldn't be 15 other presents to open! Well, he MADE me promise I wouldn't tell his teacher...he would die if Miss DeMuth knew he got a lump of coal! We all got a laugh out of that! These are just a very few of the pictures. The boys loved their new toys and clothes, and I got to stay up until about midnight that night taking everything out of boxes (and toys are ridiculous to get out of boxes) and finding places to keep all of the new loot!

Christmas Day 2009

On Christmas morning, the boys tried to get up at 4:30 AM to see what Santa had brought. Mommy decided that was WAY too early and sent them back to bed...they then ended up sleeping until 7:00, which was a little more like it! The boys were VERY excited to see all that Santa had left for them, plus some gifts from Mommy and Daddy, too! Landon loved his Little People airport the best out of all his presents, and Logan's favorite was his "real" guitar, hands down! He could have cared less about his other gifts after seeing that guitar! Because of the snowstorm that has been hanging around our area for the past couple of days, we stayed home for Christmas Day this year, just the 4 of us. It was kind of nice to let the boys open their presents and then actually have time to play with them instead of rushing off to the next Christmas. The day was very relaxing, and I enjoyed hanging out around the house. However, I had to cook Christmas dinner since we didn't go anywhere...I can't remember if I've ever cooked a Christmas dinner by myself before...I'm thinking NOT! I enjoyed it. Of course, I didn't have to cook a lot for just us, so it wasn't too bad! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and now 2010 is just around the corner!

Christmas Eve 2009

Christmas Eve was an exciting time for Logan and Landon...they were just a little too excited, out of control, and lucky that Santa really came! Luckily, the snowstorm didn't stop my parents from coming over for supper and watching the boys open their first gifts of Christmas; however, it did stop us from our tradition of going to Jeff's parents in Cherokee. I let the boys each open one present and my parents brought a present for each of them to open as well. After supper, some present opening, reading The Night Before Christmas, and some Christmas tv shows, the boys set out milk and cookies for Santa, as well as carrots - one for each reindeer! It took them a long time to settle down and actually fall asleep, but they fell asleep just in the nick of time before Santa arrived with more gifts than they really needed!

Logan's Pre-K Christmas Program

Well, the weather cooperated with us today so that Logan could have his Pre-K Christmas program! I'm so glad they got to have it! It was very cute! Logan has been singing some of the songs for us at home and was very excited that people were going to be coming to watch him perform on the big stage at the high school auditorium. Mommy, Daddy, Landon, Grandma Bonnie, Grandpa Mick, Great Grandma Bessie, and Great Grandpa Bob were all able to make it and watch him! The show was a whopping 15 minutes long, but that was fine, as I don't know if Landon would have sat nicely much longer than that! Logan certainly did a nice job at his program today, and Landon is already telling us what his Christmas program will be like next year when he goes to preschool. I'm glad he is excited to go to school, but I hope he can learn to follow directions by then...he doesn't seem to want to do what I say. :) I guess Logan was the same way at that age, and now he's doing great in school, so maybe there's hope for Landon, too!

More of Logan's 5th Bday

I know one big gift I forgot to mention in my last post...Logan also got a Moose Riders leather motorcycle vest, just like Daddy's! He says now he has to ride the motorcycle so he can wear his vest! LOL!

Happy 5th Birthday, Logan!

Today was Logan's 5th birthday...where has the time gone? He had a great birthday. We started the day at Boji Splash indoor waterpark, and then had his birthday party this evening. We had a yummy supper with family that is here in Milford, then Logan opened all of his presents. I'd say he scored VERY good! He got a large firestation playhouse (almost like a doll house for boys), some of his favorite movies (A Christmas Story, Polar Express, and Happy Feet), a Lightning McQueen Laptop, a Handy Manny motorcycle, a puzzle, Lightning McQueen book with magnet cars, a DVD player (it was a used one, but he doesn't know the difference), his very own digital camera, a semi that holds a bunch of matchbox cars, 2 Hawkeye shirts, some warm, fuzzy jammies, money, and I probably forgot some things, too! I told you he scored big! We are so blessed to have such a healthy, happy boy! Happy Birthday to Logan!
