Today was an exciting day for Landon, as it was his preschool spring program (we've been calling it his preschool "graduation")! I took the morning off from work for his big day, and his Grandma and Grandpa Umscheid had the day off to spoil just him! Jeff and my grandparents met us at the program, too, so it was a very special time! He's been so excited for us all to see his program, but when it came time to perform, it seemed he got a little shy! :) He would either sing or do the actions to the song, but not both. I suppose when you are 3 or 4 and you look out at a crowd of parents and grandparents, some kids are bound to be a little shy, but he still did a great job! After the kids were done singing all their songs, it was time for cupcakes, cookies, and juice, and also time to thank his wonderful teacher and helpers for the wonderful preschool program that they provide! Landon absolutely LOVED going to preschool at Little Learners this year! Miss Pam is a fabulous teacher, and Miss Margi and Miss Ann are excellent helpers...and he enjoyed ALL 3 of them! To top off his special day, he got some cards for his "graduation" from Gpa and Gma Umscheid, Great Gma and Gpa Umscheid, and Jeff and I...he raked in some money and a gift card to Wal-Mart to go pick out something special! He says "I'm never spending my money, Mom!" Gee, I wish I had that kind of self-control with my money! Ha ha! Of course, Landon will sweet talk me into spending MY money on something so he doesn't have to spend HIS...little stinker! We are so proud of our "baby" for all he has learned this year, the new friends he has made, and how excited he is about school! He is, overall, such a good kid, and we hope he stays that way as he grows!
Since today was such a beautiful spring day, and we were in the mood to celebrate Landon's preschool graduation, I took the boys to one of their favorite parks to play! Landon only has 1 more day of school, and Logan and I only have 7! Of course teachers have to work an extra 2 days after that, but summer break is right around the corner!! I'm sure we'll have MANY more dates to the park in the next few months!
With this past weekend being Mother's Day, we stayed busy with all of our little celebrations! The boys spent some time Saturday morning with Jeff's mom, then we all took her her gift and spent a little more time with her Saturday night at their camper (here at the Lakes). She enjoys walking the boys from their camper to Emerson Bay (a beach), so she got to take them there to play for a bit, and of course the boys enjoyed that very much! On Sunday morning, I was treated like a queen! I got to sleep in, and Logan gave me a foot rub before I got out of bed for the day! Then both boys showered me with homemade cards, necklaces with their names on them, and bracelets! After all that, they took me out to eat at Tweeter's, then Jeff took the boys fishing, giving me a little peace and quiet! Sunday night was time for celebrating with my mom. We had my parents, as well as my brother and his wife over for supper and gifts for my mom. We had fun just hanging out together, and of course the boys are always pretty good entertainment! It was a GREAT weekend! Happy Mother's Day!
We were taking so many pictures of Logan for his kindergarten program, that Landon felt left out...so here's a picture of Landon! His preschool graduation/program is next week, so his turn will come for plenty of pictures! I can't believe he is almost done with preschool and ready for pre-k at my school next year!
Last Thursday, Logan and his kindergarten classmates had their kindergarten music program! They all did a great job, and we are so proud of Logan! To top the great night off, Great-Grandma Bessie and Great-Grandpa Bob gave Logan a Dairy Queen gift card for a job well done, and Grandma Bonnie and Grandma Mick treated him (actually Jeff, Landon, and I also) to ice cream at DQ afterward! Only about 2 1/2 weeks left of school and we will be on summer break!
