Winter Games 2011

Even though we've been battling the stomach flu at our house, everyone was healthy enough yesterday (Saturday) to enjoy some of the Winter Games festivities! We went and watched my brother play softball on the ice for a bit and had fun just watching all of the snowmobiles and 4-wheelers. While Landon and I went home for naps, Jeff and Logan toodled around on the frozen lake literally all day! I think Logan was a little stunned to see the crazy people participating in the Polar Plunge...brrrrrr! Once the sun went down, it was time to go watch the burning of the greens and fireworks. After all of the that, we were one tired and COLD family! Watching the fireworks in subzero temps makes me long for summer! I'd much rather watch the fireworks in the 90 degree heat for the 4th of July!

Logan - Wrestling

Here are a few pictures of Logan at wrestling practice! This is his first official year of practice, but he's been wrestling around with his brother and his dad at home for a few years now! Going to practice still makes Logan very nervous and anxious (so much so that last week he just sat and watched practice because he was so nervous), but we keep encouraging him to stick it out...and each time he goes, we hope he gets more and more comfortable and confident. We don't necessarily expect him to be a wrestler, but we want him to be involved in something and learn the concept of hard work and team work and to NOT be a quitter. Tonight, although he was still nervous to go, he participated in all of practice and did an outstanding job! He really does have some pretty good athletic ability (as much as can be expected from a kindergartener)! We are so proud of Logan for sticking with this, even though it is WAY outside his comfort zone! Take him down, break him down, pin him to the mat! GO LOGAN!

Snow Day Fun!

Well, this is turning out to be quite a short week of school! Both yesterday (Monday) and today were snow days for us (it seemed the snow would never stop), and the boys and I have turned them into pretty fun days! Logan is excited as can be when school gets cancelled, but Landon was VERY sad to miss preschool today! :( Our days have consisted of playing in the snow (A LOT), board games, reading, wrestling, coloring, playing with Play-Doh, and whatever else their little imaginations can dream up! As much fun as we've had the past couple of days, I also hate to watch too much of our summer vacation dwindle away because of snow make-up days! So that's enough snow for this year! Let's move on to spring (yes, I know I am dreaming)!

Landon Sings the ABCs!

Well, Landon was very jealous that Logan had a video of him singing the ABCs on here, so he wanted to make one, too! We can only hope that Landon's lisp eventually goes away like Logan's did, too...but it sure is cute when they are young! :) Sorry that the video is so fuzzy...I was only using my digital camera and it doesn't take very good videos.
