Today, all of my Umscheid extended family celebrated a very special event! As of November 18, my grandparents have been married for 60 years! Wow! What an accomplishment! There was a community reception from 2:00-4:00, and MANY people came to wish my grandpa and grandma congratulations and best wishes! After that, we had a family supper. After supper, my Uncle Dan gave some family tree books/posters to all of his siblings and to my grandma and grandpa. He worked a long time on tracing our family ancestry and created quite piece of memorabilia for the family! That will be something to treasure forever! I wish my grandparents a wonderful anniversary and thank them for being such great role models, both in marriage and in character.

Logan's Birthday - Some of his Presents

The Empty Box - see the funny story below! :)

Boy, did Logan get A LOT of nice presents for his 7th birthday! He got lots of Star Wars and Transformers stuff, a DVD player for his bedroom, with several movies, money, and the list goes on! The funny story about his presents goes like this: On his actual birthday (Nov. 22), Jeff and I let him open his presents from us since his party wasn't until the next night. He was having a blast opening them and was down to his last one. When he opened it, he found an EMPTY box! I must be losing my mind, because I actually accidentally wrapped an empty box! I didn't mean to...not even for a joke...I HATE wrapping presents and would NEVER have wrapped an extra one that didn't need to be wrapped...but it turned out pretty darn funny! If I could have captured the look on his face...LOL! So, to be funny, my mom wrapped a box for him to open on his party night with nothing in it but a note that said "Ha, Ha!" He didn't find that any funnier than the first empty box he opened! :) Now, I think I almost have to make it a tradition to wrap one empty box a year for him to open on his bday! I still chuckle just remembering his reaction!
