Summer LOVE!

This is one of my recent new favorite pictures of the boys!  We took this photo last weekend on our first really nice day since school has been out.  We spent the afternoon at the Amusement Park and then sat by the lake and ate our Bon Bon's frozen yogurt (YUMMY) with this beautiful view!  The boys were so happy for summer break, they actually got along all day, and I got this sweet picture out of the deal!  :)  LOVE them!!

My Little Baseball Players!

Both Logan and Landon are so excited to be out for baseball this summer, and they are also happy that their dad is coaching both teams again this year!  It makes for a busy month of June, but it's all worth it!  Landon is just excited that he no longer has to play that "boring" tball!  He has moved up to the next league called Coach-Pitch where the coach pitches to the players and they only hit off of the tee if they haven't hit any from the coach after so many pitches.  Logan, too, is excited to move on to the next league where the kids start pitching to each other!  He has been playing a lot at catcher and left field (he takes after his momma with those positions)!  We are at the ball field every night, Mondays through Thursdays, but we love it!

Logan Reads With Ayla!

Logan's reading teacher has a program at our elementary school called Puppy Tales.  Any student that is in her reading group can earn a chance to read with one of her dogs by working hard, having good behavior, etc.  Earlier in the year, Logan read to her dog, Anders, so this time he chose to read to Ayla.  What a GREAT opportunity for kids at Okoboji!  They get a chance to practice and show off their reading skills to a furry friend that will not judge how good or bad of a reader they are!  Logan has grown leaps and bounds as a reader this year!  We are so proud of him and all of his hard work!  We are also thankful for all of the wonderful teachers who have worked with him along the way!  We are truly blessed with awesome teachers at OES!

Boji Splash - May 2013

Last weekend my sister-in-law and I decided to take our boys to Boji Splash for some Sunday swimming fun!  My boys always enjoy their time with cousin Eli, and they all had a blast splashing around together!

Landon's Kindergarten Music Program!

Landon was so excited to today because it was FINALLY the day for his kindergarten music program!!  He and his classmates have been practicing their songs for the past couple of months, so they were SO ready to perform today!  They had two shows today...one at 2:00 this afternoon and one at 6:30 tonight.  Grandma and Grandpa Umscheid and Grandpa Duvall (and of course Logan and Jeff and I) all went to watch Landon (Grandma Duvall had to stay in Omaha for work or she would have been there, too), and of course he was SO PROUD!  We are so proud of what a great job he did!  He even had a small speaking part (one sentence...LOL)!  The lighting on the stage made it very difficult for me to get good pictures, but here are a few from the programs today!
During the afternoon program

Dressed up for the evening program!

So excited and ready for the show!

Getting ready to say his speaking part.  "The food that we eat gives us energy!"

Sunshiney Day!

These boys LOVE their riding lawn mower!  It's the best we can do for these city kids!  LOL!

Grandpa's Future Hunter!

Logan is pictured above wearing the jacket and boots my dad won at a Pheasant's Forever banquet when Logan was about 2!  At the time, the clothes seemed enormous, but now they are starting to fit!  Where has the time gone??  We have told him all along that, by the time these clothes fit, he would be about old enough to go hunting with Grandpa Mick.  Logan wants to go SO BADLY, that he is determined to make them fit!  Haha!  :)

Annual Fish Hatchery Visit During Gillnetting Season

Every spring, the boys LOVE going to the Fish Hatchery in Spirit Lake during their gillnetting season.  It's fun to see fish from our lake up close and personal, and see how our lakes are stocked with new fish each year! Actually, the boys' favorite part might be seeing the snakes and turtles that are at the fish hatchery year-round!  I'm fine with them liking snakes and turtles, as long as they are in cages and NOT at my house!  :)
